Evan Gruzis

Evan Gruzis (Born 1979) is active/lives in New York, Wisconsin.  Evan Gruzis is known for Painting.

The works of Evan Gruzis are characterized by high levels of technical perfection and a mature, distinctive personal style.  Gradients in the violet region or the reduction to black and white are both typical and recurring motifs.  Photo Realistic detected, backlit by their outline concentrated exotic fruits, sunglasses, skull or palm combined Gruzis happy with abstract stripe patterns or triangular shapes.  In this style, Evan Gruzis linked clearly to the popular culture of the 1980s, but he's regarded for his deep seriousness and melancholy large works of art.

Since his graduation in 2008 he has held solo exhibitions in New York, Berlin, Geneva and Athens.  His works are also presented in museums and collections such as the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the Deste Foundation Collection in Athens or the CCA Andraxt in Mallorca.
