Anton Hoffmann was a German painter, illustrator, army expert, commercial artist, and university teacher. He was born in 1863 in Bayreuth, Germany and died in 1938 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber or Munich, Germany. He served in the Bavarian Army from 1880-89 while also pursuing his artistic career. He studied at the Academy in Munich from 1889-95 and participated in exhibitions at the Munich Glass Palace from 1896. He created contributions for various publications and worked as a commercial artist for several companies. He received numerous honors and was a member of several artist associations. He was active in Munich and Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
