Javier Arevalo jalisciense is a known artist whose work is characterized by magical realism. He studied at the School of Arts and Letters of Guadalajara, at the Academy of San Carlos and years later he joined the National School of Fine Arts, where he studied with the painter Antonio Rodríguez Luna. In 1966 he was accepted as a member of the Hall of Plastic Mexicana in 1970 and was winner of the first prize at the Tokyo Biennial. Along with Francisco, Toledo and Jose Luis Cuevas, art critics considered it in the 70s as a remarkable draftsman. For him, the most important thing in his painting is the strength and perfection of the lines and the power to capture the magical essence of each place you visit. His work has been exhibited individually and collectively in galleries and cultural institutions in Mexico, USA, Canada, Chile, France, Argentina, Spain, Costa Rica and Colombia manner.
